Pass the Buck

Part of what she reported was that Charlotte is "making every effort...." If that were true, things would be quite different than they are.

In the meeting last week, I told the dean that Charlotte was going to make assurances like this, and that my perspective was not going to agree with this. I am not really sure that the dean even understands the situation more than superficially. I kept telling her that Charlotte and Rob were marginalizing my services, but I guess that she would rather believe Charlotte's assurances that things are under control and on the right track.

So right now, I am debating whether or not I should go back to the dean and try to make my points more forcefully or just write her off as another administrator who passed the buck. The laternative to going back to her is to re-request to meet with the provost. One problem with going back to the dean is that she is below Charlotte in the CWU hierarchy, so may not have much influence over her anyway. Because of this, I am leaning towards moving on and trying to get time with the provost. The provost is above Charlotte, so maybe this is what I should focus on.
